Located beside the famous Lion Monument, the Glacier Garden ranks amongst the oldest attractions in Switzerland.
Discovered in 1872, the glacial potholes date back to the Ice Age. A lush park was soon established to
complement these remnants of the distant past. A stroll to the observation tower offers views of the town and
the mountains. The Chalet-style Schweizerhaus, now heritage protected, houses exhibitions of geological and
historical interest. F. L. Pfyffer’s 18th century terrain model of Switzerland is the world’s oldest large-scale
landscape relief. And finally, for more than a hundred years, visitors of all ages have considered the Alhambra
mirror maze to be the highpoint of a visit to the Glacier Garden.
Entrance includes the Natural Monument, Museum, Million Year Show, Special Exhibitions, Mirror Maze and a
printed guide book.
