Avon. Visit Shakespeare’s birthplace before continuing north to York. Walk inside the city walls to the crooked ‘Shambles’ and
see York Minster. Later, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Reception with drinks, plus the opportunity to mingle over a

Over the Border to Edinburgh
This morning, stop briefly at part of Hadrian’s Wall, then pass Jedburgh Abbey to visit a real, working organic farm (weather
permitting). Learn about the owners’ environmentally friendly farming methods and passion for sustainable food. Now on to

Edinburgh, Athens of the North
In the morning, join a local expert for a visit to Edinburgh Castle, home of Scotland’s glittering crown jewels. Then drive down
the Royal Mile to see Holyroodhouse Palace. Cross over to Princes Street past the Scott Monument and on to the 18th century
New Town. The afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, selected departures attend the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.(Full Breakfast)
To the Lake District and on to Liverpool
After breakfast, re-enter England and enjoy a scenic drive through the Lake District National Park, inspiration to a host of
poets. Stop in Wordsworth’s home village of Grasmere and admire the limpid waters of Windermere, largest of the lakes. Then
continue south to Liverpool, the home of the Beatles! Choose from a selection of restaurants tonight on your Dine-Around

On to Chester, through Snowdonia to the Conwy Estuary
See Chester Cathedral and the unique black and white ‘Rows’. Drive along the coast to Conwy, a walled town, dominated by
its dark stoned fortress. Now on to Blaenau Ffestiniog for a journey through the Snowdonia National Park aboard an old slate
steam train. Your hotel is nestled on the Deganwy Quay.(Full Breakfast)
To the Welsh Marches and Bristol
Travel through the pretty Welsh countryside to the border town of Ludlow, with its half-timbered Jacobean houses and ruined
castle. Why not spend time strolling through the traditional open-air market, admiring the local crafts and perhaps sampling
the produce. Continue to Bristol where tonight’s Celebration Dinner features wine and a wonderful array of locally-sourced

Drive to Georgian Bath, Stonehenge and London
A short drive brings you to Bath, where you admire the wonderful Georgian architecture and visit the Roman Baths. Continue
across Salisbury Plain to visit the ancient stone circle of Stonehenge, before returning to London’s Thistle Marble Arch Hotel
