Verkehrshaus (also known as The Swiss Transport Museum).
The museum showcases the development of transport and mobility as well as communication methods
through a variety of interactive exhibits. Other attractions unique in Switzerland include the film theatre
(Imax), planetarium, Swissarena and the Hans Erni Museum.
The Swiss Museum of Transportation, which was opened in 1959, is Switzerland’s most popular museum. The
history of mobility and communication is documented in exhibitions and theme parks, with simulations,
interactive stations and films.
The Swiss Museum of Transportation is Europe’s most comprehensive museum of mobility. More than 3,000
objects spread over an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters showcase the development of traffic on roads,
by rail, on water, in the air and in space. In the locomotive simulator one can experience what it feels like to drive a train oneself.
